Contemplating Spiral Perspective
Being able to move up or down a spiral staircase would depend on where the center of gravity is located. Conceptually, the trajectory could begin anywhere, an arbitrary location to commence.
Looking in any direction while ascending or descending would appear straight, however the force exerted by the center or core would define a curved horizon.
The distance between any two points, expressed as a measure of time, is the duration it takes to travel from one level to another, into infinity.
Completing a cycle would depend on where the endpoint is situated, often a force of nature used to determine the beginning of another cycle.
Seeing the place where one started could be possible if the stairs were made of glass, and the origin – where measuring began – is clearly marked, reflecting a changed perspective.
