Mirrors Long Past – a poem

Old PhotographAmidst a moment of fleeting exhilaration,
Reminiscences of blurred memories,
Captured in motionless clarity,
Connected from instant to instant,
Swiftly, as life’s current moves,
Recording its history
A reflection of what was,
a glimmer of what is
Images, now displaced
As children, long ago, found again,
Enraptured within a vulnerable moment
Unattended emotions, innocent glances,
A solitary landscape, of lost occurrences,
Cherished, a dim but lit memory
Frozen, for all time
A photograph, of mirrors long past.
